ADA Paratransit Service

The District provides origin-to-designation transportation services for people with disabilities and who are unable to utilize the Districts fixed routes, including the Saluki Express service.  These services must begin within ¾ miles of the fixed route.  The District does not provide Same Day service currently.  Eligible users of the ADA Paratransit Service must schedule reservations at least one full day in advance.  Eligible users can request reservations up to seven days in advance.

The District’s website will be undergoing an update.  Detailed route maps and a Rider’s Guide will be available.

Saluki Express and Service

The Saluki Express is coming to JCMTD!  We are working towards providing efficient service.  There are several service changes scheduled to begin over the next few months.  These changes are intended to improve services and ensure the services are available for those invididuals who need these services.

Scheduling a Ride

All riders are required to provide 24-hour advance notice to schedule a ride.  This ensures there is proper seating available and assists with on time performance.  The district will begin to enforce this scheduling practice on May 1, 2024.  After May 1, 2024 Same Day Service will no longer be available.  Please contact Dispatch at 618.549.0304 to schedule a ride with at least 24 hours advance notice.

Door to Door Service

Effective June 1, 2024, the District will only offer origin to destination (door to door) service for ADA Complimentary Paratransit Routes.  Riders must meet ridership eligbility requirements.  Download an elgibility application hereRiders who are not eligible for this service are encouraged to ride the Carbondale area fixed route system (Saluki Express).

Carbondale Residential Route

Effective June 1, 2024 the Carbondale Residential routes will be discontinued.  All rides are encouraged to utilize the Saluki Express routes.  For more informaiton on the Saluki Express click here.  

Carbondale Murphysboro Route

Effective June 1, 2024 the Carbondale Murphysboro route will be reduced to one bus and weekend service will be discontinued.  All rides must be scheduled 24 hours in advance.

All JCMTD services deviate from specified routes to provide the best service we can to our community.  Whether it is door to door or curb to curb, riders can call our dispatch number to reserve a ride to and from their home or other service area locations.

JCMTD is closed on: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
